Raise Credit Score Fast

It’d be nice if it could be like having your drivers license, where if you take a defensive driving course you can get so many points knocked off your record. Well maybe they should have a credit and money counseling course and you add so many points!!
oh no…lol. I had many more than just one old debt on my credit..but i only have one remaining that is not paid!

Like many I am in need of repairing and raising my credit score. The only thing that is really bad is payment history. Ive never had a credit card and don’t have the credit to get one now either. Are there things you can report to your credit to have it raised? I mean payment wise. Ive made good payments every month for loads of things from insurance to other bills, because I work and the money is in there.

I need to build my score back up and I know that some stuff on your report, payin bills on time, having income to dept ratio, and maxed revolving loans effects that, but I was just wondering what other things that I could do to raise my score. I was laid off work in 2004 and was struck by Katrina in 2005 and between those problems mine and my husbands score has fallen from an 800 to below 600. We have been paying all our stuff on time and do not have maxed revolving credit, I have a full time job again and still our score will not come up what should I do?

I haven’t consolidated my loans yet b/c I have heard rumors that congress is going to help lower student interest rates, so I’m taking a gamble and hoping the rates will lower. I have 11 seperate student loan accounts. Would my credit score go up if I consolidated, since I would then have 1 instead of 11 accounts? Would it be better in regards to my credit score to leave them as is?
Current score is about 650.
